Great site, Shige. Really interesting information for a gaijin, and lovely pics, too. It has given me some good ideas for my travels in Tokyo, and an eye to look for shrines on roof tops! Is the shrine on the top of Mitsukoshi department store there for the reasons you have noted, or to attract customers to their roof? Thanks. Baz.

Hi, Baz! Thank you for coming. Welcome to my weblog! I'm grad you liked it. I'm going to revise this blog twice a month or so.
I checked the shrine on the Nihonbashi-Mitsukosi department store's roof top. It wasn't same reasoning as the roof top shrine what I wrote previously. According to the sign board stood beside the shrine, that is a branch shrine of the Mimeguri shrine which is located near Asakusa. The owner of Mitukoshi (the Mitsui family) had worshiped that shrine, then they established a branch shrine on thier department store when they built Nihonbashi-Mitsukoshi in 1914. It seems there are many stories on the buildings around there. I'd like to write about Nihonbashii-area in the near future.

Thank you for your comments, Kaz. I'm not sure Lee likes cherry blossoms. He did't seem to pay any attention to the fallen petals, but he seemed to be enjoying walking around beneath the trees. Anyway, he is 3ys old.
